Roth plans battery recycling plant in Bavaria

The industry service for electromobility electrive.net published an article about our new battery recycling plant, which is being built at the ROTH site in Wernberg-Köblitz. Here are some excerpts:

"At the new location, a plant for the recycling of lithium-ion batteries, especially from vehicles, is being built – "unique in this form worldwide," according to a statement from BayBG. Initial recycling capacities are stated to be 9,000 tons per year.

BayBG sees great potential in this for the future. This illustrates "the demand for and the associated recycling of lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles alone". The company expects demand to increase from 100 GWh to around 1,745 GWh over the next ten years. BayBG also refers to the calculations of energy agencies."
