Roth plans 9000-tonne recycling plant for e-car batteries in Upper Palatinate

The portal elektroauto-news.net reports on our recycling plans for lithium-ion batteries:

"The market for recycling is growing dynamically in line with the market for electromobility. The recycling specialist Roth International, founded in 2013, is also growing with it. So much so that the largely utilized capacities are to be significantly expanded with the construction of a new company building in Wernberg-Köblitz. In financing this initial investment, the company is relying on a silent participation of Bayerische Beteiligungsgesellschaft (BayBG), (Bavarian Holding Society).

The new development at the new location is intended to be a globally unique plant for the recycling of lithium-ion batteries. The initial recycling capacity amounts to 9000 tons per year, according to BayBG in a recent statement. The future prospects that are emerging in this area in particular are illustrated by the demand for and the associated recycling of lithium-ion batteries for electric cars alone. In the next ten years, demand is expected to increase from 100 GWh to around 1745 GWh, according to current calculations by energy agencies."
